One of the must-see activities in San Diego during the holidays is taking a stroll down Candy Cane Lane. We have friends who live in this neighborhood and we love to visit them at this magical time of year.
Located off Twin Peaks Road and Silverset Street (down Hickory Ct., Hickory St, Butterwood Ct. and Rockrose Ct.) in Poway, this community provides some of the best Christmas light displays in all of San Diego. 
We go every year to share in the excitement of the season. The streets are ablaze in lights and we all bundle up in warm winter coats and mittens and buy some hot chocolate from some of the young entrepreneurs set up on their driveways. This year we even took a horse drawn carriage ride up and down the streets. It made the trip extra memorable for the kids. What little girl doesn’t love horses and Christmas glitter?!?
This area never disappoints and the visit is a great way to celebrate the twinkle of the season with the family! Try to get there right at dusk because it can be hard to find parking. Or park a couple blocks away and walk in to avoid the traffic.
